This method is useful to teach children how to read with expression and also make them aware of a more fluent pace of reading.

Tracking when reading

This method can help improve reading speed. Encourage your child to keep up with the pointer. You can also pount out errors by stopping the tracker and the child will normally self- correct at this stage.

Reading Fluency

Keisha is reading fluently in this example. Her reading speed is slightly faster than the level we require to be deemed as fluent in our assessments, but if parents use this speed as a rough guide, it will offer some guidance.
